Rui Pinto Proença joined MdME after several years as a senior associate of another top Macau law firm where he gained recognition for his commercial and general business law expertise, becoming one of the rising professionals of the local legal market.

In his Corporate/M&A practice he was involved in some of the latest landmark commercial transactions in Macau, having been an advisor for several listings of companies holding subsidiaries in Macau with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He recently integrated a cross-border team set up to pursue the restructuring of a Portuguese urban development and real-estate company and its respective controlling shareholder incorporated in Macau SAR.

Rui has been focusing his practice on the ever-expanding gaming industry, having regularly advised operators in a wide range of gaming related matters. He also serves as the local expert for several transnational gaming equipment manufacturers and service providers, liaising with regulators and local players as well as providing them with his inside knowledge of the industry and market practices. Rui is a key contact on our Gaming & Hospitality Department.

On the field of Litigation & Arbitration Rui Pinto Proença has distinguished himself by successfully assisting clients on high profile corporate disputes and for representing different public services concessionaires in administrative litigations against the Macau SAR Government.
